One hundred and twenty physicians, both NMA members and non-members, other health professionals, community activists and patients from the Sarasota Bradenton Florida areas participated in lively discussions of the Medicare Part D and Pay-for-Performance (P4P) and its impact on health disparities during a Town Hall Meeting in Sarasota, Florida. The successful meeting was hosted by The Cobb Institute and the Health Policy Division of the NMA, along with he Gulf Coast Medical Society and Sarasota Memorial Hospital. The goals of the town hall meeting were to:

• Document the experiences of healthcare providers, policymakers, and patients with Medicare Part D and P4P
• Create a list of recommendations on how Part D might be reformed
• Assess how Part D is working for patients of color in the state of Florida
• Raise awareness about P4P among the various stakeholders
• Educate the audience about how they can become involved in the P4P debate at the local, state, and national levels.
