Current Research Initiatives
The Cobb/NMA Institute develops, evaluates and implements strategies to promote wellness and eliminate health disparities and racism in medicine. In advancing its agenda, the Cobb/NMA Institute conducts research which will guide physicians in their treatment of patients who have traditionally been underserved. The Cobb Institute identifies areas of research to reduce health disparities through:
  • Anecdotal data, patterns of treatment, and clinical observations reported by NMA physicians identifying the issues that impact the needs the health of African American community;
  • Convening of townhall meetings and seminars for physicians and patients at the grassroots level
